SCAN TO FTP via FileZilla Server or Scanner File Utility v. 4.11

 
NOTE: DON’T INSTALL BOTH. SELECT ONLY ONE – FileZilla or SFU.
 
 

A. SCAN TO FTP via FILEZILLA SERVER

 

1. On the desktop, create a Folder.
Right-click the mouse on an empty background. Select New and click Folder.

2. Name the Folder (e.g. scan).

3. Install the FileZilla Server. Get it here.
Follow the screenshots below.








4. After installation, a dialog box will appear. Click OK.

5. Click on Edit tab and select Users.

6. In Users window, click Add.

7. Enter a name then click OK (e.g. alfie).

8. In the left pane under Page, click Shared Folders.

9. Click Add.

10. Browse for the folder and select it.

11. Click OK.

12. Check all the boxes under Files and Directories.

13. Click OK.

Check if the FileZilla Server is displayed below.

14. Click on Start > All Programs > Internet Explorer.

15. Type in the IP Address of the Kyocera MFP in the address bar of Internet Explorer.

16. In the Kyocera Command Center, click on Login.

17. Type in the password “admin00” (without the quotation mark).

18. Click on Basic tab.

19. Point the mouse over Address Book and click Contacts.

20. In the Address Book Contacts, click on ‘Add Contact’.

21. Under Contact Information, type a name (e.g. Alfonso)
Under FTP, type in the computer name or IP Address of the Windows XP PC in the Host Name (e.g. tpcxp)
For the Path, leave it blank.
For the Login User Name, type the name created in the FileZilla Server (e.g. alfie)
If the user name created in the FileZilla server is, type it in the Login Password, otherwise leave it blank.

B. SCAN TO FTP via SCANNER FILE UTILITY 4.11

1. Install Scanner File Utility ver. 4.11. Get it here.







2. After the installation, Run Scanner File Utility (SFU).
Start > All Programs > Scanner User Software > Scanner File Utility.

3. SFU icon will appear on the right side of the taskbar. Right click the icon.

4. Select Configuration.

5. SFU window will appear. Click Setup.

6. In the Setup window, click New.

7. In the Folder Setting, click the browse button.

8. Browse for the folder and select it. Then click OK.

9. Back in the Folder Setting, type a number in the No. field (e.g. 1) then click OK.

10. Back in Setup check on Reception Notice then click OK.

11. Back in SFU window, click OK.

12. Right click SFU icon and select Start.

Check if the SFU icon is running.

13. Open Kyocera Command Center’s Address Book Contacts.
Under Contact Information, type a name (e.g. Alfonso)
Under FTP, type in the computer name or IP Address of the Windows XP PC in the Host Name (e.g. tpcxp)
For the Path, type the Folder No. in the SFU Folder setting (e.g. 1).
For the Login User Name, leave it blank.
For the Login Password, leave it blank.

NOTE: Windows Firewall must be turned off.

To turn off Windows Firewall, Right click the Network icon.

Select Configure Windows Firewall settings.

If there is no Network icon, click Start and click Control Panel.

Click Swith to Classic View.

Double click Windows Firewall.

In Windows Firewall, select “Off (not recommended)”.

Click OK to exit.

How to Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.

1. Windows Firewall must be on.
In Windows Firewall window, click on Exceptions tab.

2. Click Add Program.

3.a. Click FileZilla Server Interface and click OK.

3.b. or click Scanner File Utility or click Add.

4.a. Click OK.

4.b. Click OK.

A. SCAN TO FTP via FILEZILLA SERVER

Install & configure FileZilla Server.
The procedure is the same as that of Windows XP.

B. SCAN TO FTP via SCANNER FILE UTILITY 4.11

Install & configure FileZilla Server.
The procedure is the same as that of Windows XP.

How to turn off Windows Firewall

1. Click on the Network icon.

2. Click Network and Sharing Center.

3. Click Windows Firewall.

4. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

5. Select Off (not recommended).

6. Click OK.

Windows Firewall is now off.

How to Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.

1. Windows Firewall must be on.
Click Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.

2. Click Add Program.

3.a. Click FileZilla Server Interface and click OK.

3.b. or click Scanner File Utility or click OK.

4.a. Click OK.

4.b. Click OK.

A. SCAN TO FTP via FILEZILLA SERVER

B. SCAN TO FTP via SCANNER FILE UTILITY 4.10

Install & configure FileZilla Server.
The procedure is the same as that of Windows XP.

How to turn off Windows Firewall

1. Click on the Network icon.

2. Click Open Network and Sharing Center.

3. Click Windows Firewall.

4. Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

5. Select Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended) and click OK.

Windows Firewall is now off.

How to Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.

1. Windows Firewall must be on.
Click Allow a Program or Feature through Windows Firewall.

2. Click Allow another program.

3.a. Click FileZilla Server Interface and click Add.

3.b. or click Scanner File Utility or click Add.

4.a. Click OK.

4.b. Click OK.

 

NOTE: ADDITIONAL CONFIGURATION if firewall is on in Windows 7

Go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall

Click Advanced Settings

Click Inbound Rules

Click New Rule

Select Custom and click Next

Select All Programs then click Next

Protocol type, select Any then click Next

Select These IP Addresses and click Add

Type in the IP Address of Kyocera Scanner then click OK

Click Next

Select Allow the Connection and click Next

Select All and click Next

Input a title then click Finish
