SCAN TO FTP

How to Configure FTP Scanning on MAC OS X LEOPARD (version 10.5) and SNOW LEOPARD (version 10.6)

1. Create a folder where all scanned documents will be stored.

2. On the desktop, Click on File tab and select New Folder.

3. Name the Folder.

4. Here, it is scan2mac.

5. Click the Apple icon on the upper left corner and select System Preferences.

6. Under Internet & Network, click Sharing.

7. Click on File Sharing. If it is unchecked, check it.

8. On the center is Shared Folder. Below it click the plus sign (+) button.

9. Select scan2mac and click Add.

10. Click Options button.

11. Check “Share files and folders using FTP”.

12. Click Done.

13. Open a web browser. (Safari is the default browser for Mac)

14. In the Address bar type in the IP address of Kyocera MFP.

15. Click Login.

16. Type the password “admin00”. NOTE: For Alphard models, username/password:Admin/Admin

17. Click on Basic tab.

18. Click Address Book and select Contacts.

19. Click Add Contact button.

18. Under Contact Info, type a name (e.g. Macky)
Under FTP, type in the computer name or IP Address of Mac PC (e.g. tpc-mac)
Type in the folder name in Path (e.g. Desktop/scan2mac)
The Login Username & Password is the Mac’s login username & password (e.g. Login username is “tpc” & password is “tpc” or you may ask the Mac’s owner or the end-user)
Note: Don’t forget the “Desktop/” before the folder name. This is different from Scan to SMB on Mac in which only the folder name is used in Path.


To determine the computer name of Mac, just go to System Preference’s Sharing or refer to image7 in step no. 7.

For MAC OS X LION (version 10.7), MOUNTAIN LION (version 10.8) & MAVERICKS (version 10.9)

 

Enabling FTPD via Terminal

Launch the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities) and enter the following command to start the FTP server:

sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

Hit enter after typing in the command. It will ask for password.
Note: Terminal will not display anything as you type in the password. Just hit Enter key afterwards. A message will appear that the command is successful.

Go to Kyocera Command Center. Basic > Address Book > Contacts > Add Contact

Note: Folder need not to be shared. Just create a scan folder on the Desktop. (e.g. scan)

Under Contact Info, type a name (e.g. Mack n Tosh)
Under FTP, type in the computer name or IP Address of Mac PC (e.g. 192.168.22.5)
Type in the folder name in Path (e.g. Desktop/scan)
The Login Username & Password is the Mac’s login username & password (e.g. Login username is “tpc” & password is “tpc” or you may ask the Mac’s owner or the end-user)
